Did you know that water in hotels and restaurants accounts for about 15 percent of total water use in the commercial sector?
El Paso Water welcomes the opportunity to partner with restaurants to help them become more water efficient and recognize best practices.
All locally-based restaurants are eligible for a free audit to learn how water efficient they are and how to reduce consumption further. The utility also offers workshops and other assistance to help restaurants conserve water, which also saves on operating expenses.

These restaurants get to display "Certified Water Partner" seals in their establishments and are featured in social media campaigns.
How to Qualify
To qualify to be a certified water partner, a restaurant must demonstrate best management practices in the following areas:
- Water-efficient equipment and appliances in kitchens
- Water-efficient faucets and toilets in restrooms
- Water-efficient landscaping, if applicable
- Water-efficient washing machine or laundry service, if applicable
- Responsible fats/grease disposal practices that protect our wastewater systems
- All certified partners will receive a FREE low flow bubble faucet aerator and a pre-rinse spray valve
Many restaurants have been screened but only those meeting a strict set of criteria have been named Certified Water Partners.
The program is entirely voluntary and carries no penalties if a restaurant does not meet the criteria.
