Utility investments help improve public safety

EL PASO – Local media is invited to a media briefing and tour of the Arroyo 1 Dam, a recently completed project in West El Paso. EPWater leaders will share an update on the Stormwater Utility’s  system improvements to protect public safety and private property.

About the Arroyo 1 Project:  Past rain events overwhelmed previous infrastructure, leading to severe flooding and damage to surrounding roads. Arroyo 1 helps reduce the amount of rock and silt that accumulates in the nearby Bear Ridge Channel, slowing and controlling mountain runoff downstream. The project also included protection of a trailhead to a hiking and biking path that links to the Lost Dog Trail.
