Commode Rebate

toiletThe commode rebate is offered on new WaterSense-labeled commodes, which use only 1.28 gallons of water per flush, This can save thousands of gallons a year compared to older inefficient toilets. Rebate amount is $50 per toilet, up to two toilets per household ($100 max), per 10 years.

To be considered for this rebate program, customers must fill out an application and submit proof of purchase to EPWater within 60 days of purchase. Purchase must have been made after June 1, 2023. If approved, the rebate amount(s) will be applied to the customer’s water bill within two billing cycles.

Am I responsible for disposal of the old toilet?

Yes, the customer has full responsibility for disposal of the old toilet. Per Texas state law toilets may not be re-used or sold.

Is there a specific toilet I need to buy?

Yes, only EPA WaterSense® toilets are eligible with flushes at 1.28 gallons per flush or less. Toilets not labeled WaterSense® will not be eligible for the rebate.

How many toilets can I get rebates for?

Two per property, while funds are available.

Do I need proof of installation?

Yes, customer must provide either a plumber's receipt, or submit photos of newly installed toilet.


Washing Machine Rebate

washing machineHIgh Efficiency (HE) Energy Star washing machines use about 20% less energy and 30% less water than regular washers. This rebate program offers a one-time $100 rebate for an HE Energy Star labeled washing machine.

To be considered for this rebate program, customers must fill out an application and submit proof of purchase to EPWater within 60 days of purchase. Purchase must have been made after June 1, 2024. If approved, the rebate amount(s) will be applied to the customer’s water bill within two billing cycles.

I purchased a high efficiency, but not Energy Star machine; will it qualify?

No, to qualify for this rebate the washing machine must be both high efficiency and Energy Star.

Can I use the rebate for my business?

No, but we do have rebate designed for commercial customers.

Why do you ask how many people are in my home and how much laundry I do?

Questions like this help us evaluate the efficiency of the rebate program. Determining the estimated gallons saved allows the utility to fund additional programs if they are successful.


Smart Irrigation Control Rebate

irrigation controllerA WaterSense labeled irrigation controller helps cut down on overwatering in  your landscaping by using the weather to determine when it is appropriate to water. This rebate program offers a one-time $75 rebate for a WaterSense labeled smart irrigation controller.

To be considered for this rebate program, customers must fill out an application and submit proof of purchase to EPWater within 60 days of purchase. Purchase must have been made after June 1, 2024. If approved, the rebate amount(s) will be applied to the customer’s water bill within two billing cycles.

Does the controller need to be weather based and have a soil moisture sensor?

Either a weather-based controller or a soil moisture sensor is acceptable as long as it is labeled WaterSense.

How many controllers can I get a rebate for?

This rebate is good for one controller per home.

Do I still have to follow the watering days and times?

Yes, your controller must be programmed to follow the City's watering ordinance.
