EL PASO – EPWater will host a community Open House on Dec. 2, offering residents an opportunity to learn about the recently proposed Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget and rate increase. If approved, stormwater fees would not increase while the typical residential bill for water and wastewater would increase by $9.99 per month, a 12% increase over last year’s bill.
The Open House will feature five information stations where attendees can explore how proposed rate changes may affect them, how water payments are used, and tips for reducing water use, and potentially lowering water bills. Bilingual staff will be available, and attendees may submit written comments to be shared with the Public Service Board Communications Committee.
Those who cannot attend the Open House can still learn about the 2026-27 budget priorities rates and fees at epwater.org/proposedbudget. The web page offers resources, including a fact sheet, the budget hearing presentation and videos.
