EPWater to host meeting on Montana Vista Wastewater Project Phase II

Published on April 6, 2026

EL PASO – El Paso Water will host a community meeting to update residents on the Montana Vista Wastewater Project Phase II, which will bring first-time wastewater services to more than 700 homes. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in both English and Spanish, and staff will also be available to answer questions about the project.

Montana Vista Phase I was completed in 2022 and connected more than 800 households to wastewater services. In 2023, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved more than $28 million to EPWater in financial assistance under the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP) towards construction of the wastewater system. In 2025, the project went through redesign and plan reviews.

A series of funding fairs was held in 2024 for residents to apply for TWDB funding. The project requires residents to decommission septic tanks, connect to the wastewater system and for those who did not receive TWDB funding, pay the associated costs. Financing options will be explained at the community meeting.

Montana Vista residents who have previously received correspondence from EPWater about Phase II of the wastewater project are encouraged to attend the community meeting.
