Water Festival to celebrate the culture of water
Free family friendly event includes optional tour of desalination plant
EL PASO – Celebrate our region's most essential resource with EPWater at the 2026 Water Festival. Join the fun on Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the TecH2O Center for a free event full of activities and entertainment for the whole family.
Attractions include watercolor art sessions, water-related demonstrations and art activities, music and dance entertainment featuring Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Dancers, Dash Rivera and the El Paso Youth Jazz Ensemble. Exhibition booths will feature local organizations like the El Paso Zoo, El Paso Fire Department, Conservation Society of El Paso, El Paso Electric, Mexican American Cultural Center and many more. Food sales will be held in front of the TecH2O Center.
This year, EPWater is opening its doors to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant to the public, the largest inland desalination plant in the world. Guests aged 14 and older will need to sign up for the employee-guided tours starting at 11 a.m. and meet security requirements to enter the facility. Tours will be given every 20 minutes.
