The vitality of our community depends on a sustainable water future. The Citizens Academy is an opportunity for emerging leaders in El Paso to learn about the region’s challenges, water supply plans and infrastructure needs. This program includes:
- Behind-the-scene tours of EPWater’s facilities, from the laboratory to water treatment facilities
- Special presentations from water, wastewater and stormwater experts
- Interactions and discussions with EPWater executives
- Opportunities to voice your concerns and ideas
Topics covered include our history, drinking water treatment and distribution, water quality, environmental stewardship, stormwater, wastewater and water resources.
The Citizens Academy requires a time commitment of one Friday morning per month over five months. The three-hour morning program will include a breakfast. The program culminates with a Citizens Academy graduation certificate.
