Citizens Academy
The Citizens Academy is an opportunity for our community of emerging leaders in El Paso to learn about the region’s challenges, water supply plans and infrastructure needs. We will be accepting applications for 2026 through January 2, 2026. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, mentioning why you would like to participate in the academy along with your résumé (or general background summary) to [email protected].
Each year, El Paso Water employees choose one charity and concentrate on making a big difference for that non-profit organization.
Employees host fundraising events on personal time and volunteer their time, money and talent to show their generosity and spirit of service.
Since 2009, the program has raised a combined amount of almost $291,000. Past Charity of Choice partners include:
- USO
- Project Vida
- AVANCE
- The Rescue Mission of El Paso
- Operation Santa Claus
To be considered as the Charity of Choice partner, letters to the utility must be submitted by Jan.1 of that year. Be sure to include non-profit status, whether you are locally-based or connected to a national organization, specific needs you have, and why your non-profit should be our next Charity of Choice.
An employee committee selects the Charity of Choice partner in late January, and the Public Service Board provides approval, usually in February.
